Connect an agent
Use ChefsPlan from Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients. The agent signs in as you, picks a household, and can plan weeks, search the catalog, edit meals, and build a shopping list — the same access a household member has in the app.
Guest mode is not available over MCP. You need a ChefsPlan account and a household.
Server URL
https://chefsplan.app/mcp
A ChefsPlan week is Monday–Sunday, identified by that Monday (YYYY-MM-DD). Meals are options for the week, not assigned to a day.
When you connect, Clerk will ask you to sign in and choose a household. Approve only clients you trust: they can change your meal library and week lineup.
Cursor
- Open Cursor Settings → Tools & MCP.
- Add a server (or edit
mcp.json) with:
{
"mcpServers": {
"chefsplan": {
"url": "https://chefsplan.app/mcp"
}
}
}
- Choose Needs login, complete Clerk sign-in, and pick your household.
- In Agent mode, try: “What’s on this week in ChefsPlan?”
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http chefsplan https://chefsplan.app/mcp
Then run claude, use /mcp, and finish sign-in.
Claude Desktop
In Search and tools → Manage connectors, add a custom connector named ChefsPlan with URL https://chefsplan.app/mcp, then Connect and sign in.
If you use Developer settings instead, wrap the URL with mcp-remote (required when the client only supports local stdio):
{
"mcpServers": {
"chefsplan": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["mcp-remote", "https://chefsplan.app/mcp"]
}
}
}
ChatGPT and other custom connectors
Add ChefsPlan as a custom MCP / connector with URL https://chefsplan.app/mcp. Complete the Clerk consent screen and household picker when prompted.
If sign-in fails
- Confirm the server URL is exactly
/mcp(not the website home page). - Use the HTTPS URL above.
- You must pick a household on the consent screen. Reconnect if the agent says it has no household.
- The first connection registers the client with ChefsPlan’s sign-in provider. That is expected.
